Dear Mazda,
My name is Patrick I'm from Arnhem,The netherlands, I'm working at one of the best fish shops around Arnhem. And I've got one single request:
Please reintroduce the RX-7. The rotary engine, the legendary race history and the beautifull, sexy styling makes it one of the most beautifull cars ever! I drive a N/A FC3S myself and I've driven the FB and FD as well and I like them all! They're the best cars ever made and allot of people feel the same way!
Kind regards,
Patrick Bruijsten

Dear Mazda,
I have a 2008 RX-8 40th anniversary edition, which I truly love. This is my third rotary car since 1986. I can't wait to see if the new RX-7 is brought back to the market, I will run out and trade my RX-8 in for one. Please bring it back and give it plenty of power. I'm tired of chasing Mustangs!
Thank you!
Patrick

Dear Mazda,
The Rotary engine is a vastly superior engine. But I don,t need to tell you that. I am telling you that I know this and others do to. The car industry needs a car like the RX-7. There are so many hardcore rotary fans waiting for the next real rotary sports car. (NOTE: real sports cars are 2 door hatches)

Dear Mazda,
I think bring out more RX-7s would be a good choice how often do you see people driving RX-7 compared to RX-8s,the RX-8 is ok but does not compear to the RX-7,i know lots of people out there that have RX-7s and wont sell them because there are hardly any of them left, everyone is always after RX-7s over any other car,i just think if you bring out a new RX-7 everyone wold be happy, rotarys are a dieing breed,WE NEED MORE OF THEM!
Mazda PLEASE BRING BACK THE RX-7! :)
will advertise this website on my bebo

Dear Mazda,
Your company is in one of the truly unique positions of being unequivocally loved by automotive enthusiasts. The products created by Mazda have been appreciated and used by many different types of people, ranging from everyday drivers, to grassroots enthusiasts, to fully sponsored professionals. All these people have recognized the extraordinary engineering that these vehicles and motors have.
This leads me to why I write today. The RX-7 was one of the most exciting and unique sports cars ever. The absolutely one-of-a-kind rotary engine is an absolute blast to drive. I have had the absolute pleasure of owning two RX-7’s (an FC and an FD). I would like nothing more than to see this type of vehicle brought back in your portfolio.
Currently, I develop software code for one of the US auto companies. I have been an enthusiast for many, many years, which lead to this current career. Anyways, being in this career has shown me that creating a somewhat niche sports car is a very difficult business case. It can be easy to try and design as many features as possible into a vehicle to appeal to as many people as possible, creating strong sales. I believe this is futile in the RX-7’s case for many reasons. The mere fact this car has a little-known engine will deter certain buyers. Rear-wheel drive will deter yet another set in the north, believing said drive in impractical for winter (anyone who has driven a BMW knows this is not true). Two seats will deter yet another crowd. The fact is, what an RX-7 should be is not for everyone. Engineer it to be what those who desire it to be. Set a list of what key features an ultimate driving machine should have, and work from there. I believe your best bet is to stick to your proven results, and refine them, not redefine them. There is a reason FC and FD RX-7’s have such long-term desirability and collectability.
If an RX-7 resurrection is in the cards, I would suggest that the price somehow be kept to a minimum. As you know, one of the reasons RX-7’s left the US was due to poor sales, partly due to increasing prices. No one is expecting a supercar; only a car with the proper fundamental driving elements in place. Not a lot of power? No problem, as long as the car is lightweight (you can keep the GPS and heated seats). Forced induction helps, too. Rear-wheel drive? OK, as long as an LSD is standard or an option.
A car company cannot design a winner, only the best car it can for a given application. The consumers (and enthusiasts) determine if a car is a winner. I doubt Honda ever thought the lowly Civic would reach such epic heights in the ‘90’s, but thanks (in part) to the Civics double-wishbone suspension (unheard-of at that price point), it was and continues to be popular. Enthusiasts recognized this and embraced this. In contrast, the Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice, and Ford Thunderbird all received great fanfare and praise at auto shows and preliminary public opinion. Yet all are market failures, trying too hard to be something to everyone, and alienating the original demographic with boorish, unnecessary features. The Sky, though supposedly a roadster, is not even comparable to a Miata. Your engineers know what will make the RX-7 viable; try listening to them instead of the accountants or man-on-the-street market research teams.
I will close saying know your target audience. Consumers want all the bells and whistles possible packed into a car. Enthusiasts want the best engineered vehicle they can get. The RX-7 is an enthusiast’s car.
Thank you for your time,
Phil Brodzik
